This CompactPCI* Peripheral Master processor board is designed for telecommunications, Internet and industrial control applications requiring completely integrated multiprocessing solutions for increased performance and system reliability. A generous set of on-board embedded features and the 6U Eurocard mechanical form factor address the system integration requirements of OEM system builders. High-range performance comes from the Pentium® III processor and the CompactPCI bus, while support for major operating systems and real-time software speeds application development. The ZT 5541 is capable of running separate operating systems on individual Peripheral Masters in a compactnet multi-processing system. Intel's compactnet architecture accommodates one System Master and up to 31 Peripheral Master processors, such as the ZT 5541, allowing them to communicate over the backplane, much like an Ethernet network.
